What is the Policy of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) regarding Substance Abuse:

  • The possession, use and/or distribution of substances of abuse and coming to campus are strictly prohibited on premises owned or controlled by Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
  • Random checks will be carried out on students/residential premises for substances of abuse.
  • As part of reinforcing the “No Substance Abuse Policy” of the university, random screening of the students may be carried out using an appropriate testing process.
  • Possession, use and/or distribution of substances of abuse will attract appropriate disciplinary action which may include expulsion. Offenders will also come under the purview of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 (NDPS Act) and will be liable for penal action.

What is expected from students to ensure “Substance Free Campus”
  • Abstain from the possession, use and/or distribution of substances of abuse.
  • Cooperate with authorities for random checks and screening
  • Report to authority if any violation of policy is observed
  • Support and participate in activities conducted in the campus to promote“No Substance Abuse Policy”
